Who doesn’t love taking a sneak peak around brand new ships that haven’t set sail yet? We know we certainly do! As always, we’ve brought you the inside scoop on one of the newest ships still being built…
The first in MSC’s new seaside generation is set to debut in June 2017 as the ultimate summer destination in the Mediterranean. The most recent announcements have revealed it will be MSC’s most high tech ship with a partnership with Samsung, 300 interactive screens on-board for the guests’ convenience and the biggest LED dome ceiling ever on a ship measuring at 262 ft.

MSC Meraviglia, the next generation smart ship, has been designed to meet every need of each passenger with the aim of connecting each guest with the experiences that matter the most to them. In just under 12 months it will sail around the western Mediterranean calling at a number of historic destinations where guests can immerse themselves in the local culture through a unique programme of excursions.
It is the first time on an MSC ship that all facilities for family and children are in the same place. The super amusement park is a dedicated area for families, a safe place for children and a chance to meet other families whilst on-board.
Guests will find a tech lab for kids, a 5D cinema, bowling alley, F1 simulators, arcade games and Aqua Park with four waterslides, splash pool and champagne bowl. For the thrill seekers, the Himalayan Bridge allows them to zipline across the ship 60 metres above the water.
The pool with the most generous poolside space at sea can be found on-board MSC Meraviglia too with added dining and bar options next to the 25 ft long pool that is inspired by Miami’s South Beach and illuminated at night.
The ship supplies something for everyone with another inside pool 10 metres long with a magradome that opens when the ship is in port or the sun is shining. The third pool on-board is the Aft pool that gives guests spectacular views from the back of the ship and transforms into a dance space at night.
Another outstanding feature to the ship is the 96 metre long Mediterranean-style promenade aimed to be the social centre of MSC Meraviglia with a range of activities and an 80 metre LED sky that creates a range of various leisure activities for passengers.
Guests of the MSC Meraviglia can expect a vast array of fine and casual dining options with 12 choices of venue. A buffet of world food and Mediterranean and international specialities will be available 20 hours a day or there is a choice of fine dining from a Kaito Sushi bar to an American-style steakhouse with speciality meats from around the world.
The ship also offers 10 types of accommodation on-board to choose from with added specially designed features to cater for every type of guest.
The Yacht Club conveys MSC’s idea of a ‘ship within a ship’ for guests seeking exclusivity and privacy.
It spans three decks, contains 78 suites, 15 inside cabins and two apartments that feature a living area, two balconies and a private whirlpool.
MSC continue the trend for multi-generational holidays with modular cabins designed specifically for families: up to three cabins can be put together to accommodate up to 10 passengers and quadruple cabins can accommodate a family of four people with a living space that turns the sofa into a bed at night.
The second in the Seaside-generation to launch will be MSC Seaside in December 2017 and MSC Seaside will be the third in June 2018. All three ships are built by Italy-based Fincantieri with their shipbuilding tradition, Italian flair and excellence in design with MSC’s passion for the sea in mind. MSC Seaview will hold the highest ratio of outdoor space per guest at sea with the aim to bring guests and the sea closer together.
