Royal Reveals $61 Million Revitalisation

Royal Caribbean reported back in May of this year that Adventure of the Seas would be undergoing a $61 million refurbishment in November, and their most recent announcement confirms the news and reveals further exciting details.

The ship will bring a first to the cruise line with the first two-storey miniature golf course. A similar golf course was added to Liberty of the Seas, named Liberty Dunes, however Adventure of the Seas will introduce a two-storey version: Adventure Dunes.

The vessel will also receive all-new thrills and enhancements that will include new dual racer slides: Cyclone and Typhoon, the most popular Royal surfing simulator: FlowRider, and a children’s aquapark: Splashaway Bay.

Additionally, there will be a new lineup of culinary and entertainment venues with Izumi Japanese cuisine, the brand signature steakhouse: Chops Grille, and Boleros Latin Lounge. There will be 100 new staterooms, a refresh to all existing rooms and a brand new Suites Lounge for the luxury traveller.

President and CEO of Royal Caribbean, Michael Bayley, stated: ‘We’re thrilled to debut an array of new enhancements to one of our guest’s most beloved ships. The name ‘Adventure’ says it all; this ship is packed with action, featuring a mix of signature features and innovations, including thrilling new waterslides and VOOM, the fastest internet at sea’.

The reinvented Adventure of the Seas is Royal’s fifth ship to undertake revitalization, and at $61 million this will be the brand’s largest investment to date. The huge project will feature some of the trademark innovations that the cruise line is known for, intending to bring the best of Royal Caribbean on-board this ship.
