P&O Cruises reveals £26m Aurora redesign

P&O Cruises has announced it is to refurbish the Aurora cruise ship ahead of its Christmas and New Year schedule.

The company is to spend £26 million on upgrading the ship, which is being prepared for its South America & Pacific Adventure world cruise itinerary departing on January 8th 2015.

A new look livery design will be included in the work, along with a Sindhu restaurant for evening fine dining and a Glass House restaurant and wine bar.

P&O Cruises marketing director Christopher Edgington described the company’s investment in the ship as “massive”. The Aurora was launched in 2000 and its last refit was five years ago.

Mr Edgington said: “Not only will Aurora feature firm favourites from Azura and Ventura, such as Sindhu and The Glass House restaurant and wine bar, but we will also see brand new initiatives as well as the distinctive new livery.”

The Aurora has a vast array of features, such as a cinema, theatre and an outdoor pool, complete with retractable skydome roof.
