Ovation Of The Seas…She’s Launched And We’re Here!

Royal Caribbean’s latest ship has arrived and we at www.CRUISE.co.uk are extra excited about it because we’re here for the launch!

Ovation of the Seas is the third in the fleet and carries many of the same features as her sister ships, Quantum and Anthem of the Seas. With 14 decks and a capacity to hold 4,905 passengers (and 1300 crew members) she weighs 167,800 tonnes.

Whether you’re lucky enough to be at the launch with us, have already booked to sail with her or are planning to (and we suggest you do!) then you’ll be finding Royal Caribbean staple features on-board and some first-at-sea experiences.

The thrill seekers will be in their element with the 43 foot rock climbing wall, the skydiving simulator and the chance to surf on the Flowrider. And we’re not sure about you, but we’re most impressed with the North Star; a jewel shaped glass capsule that’ll provide you 360 degree views from a height of 300 metres above sea level!

You’ll find a new Royal Caribbean favourite in the form of the bionic bar (we can’t wait to be sipping on a cocktail mixed by robotic arms) and the adults only paradise combined with Vitality at Sea Spa & Fitness centre sounds like a haven to us. Stay tuned to read our live report and tour of all her features!

Did you know? Ovation of the Seas will be homeported in Sydney in winter 2016-2017 and this makes her the largest cruise ship ever with Australian round-trip itineraries!

Ovation is set for four departures from Southampton before the summer, leading up to her relocation to China where she will continue her almost ‘around-the-world’ voyage- the 52 night long itinerary officially called ‘Global Odyssey’.

Make sure you stay tuned for our updates as we have the inside scoop from her official launch! What do you think? Will you be sailing on Ovation? What feature are you most excited for? Let us know in the comments below!
