October 16, 2014

Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas vessel has now reached Southampton, marking the first time the outstanding ship has visited the UK.

Measured at 225,282 grt, the vessel can hold up to 6,296 passengers and is nearly twice as big as any other cruise liner to dock in Britain. Measured at 208ft wide and 1,187ft long, the ship is an outstanding illustration of construction work.

The Oasis of the Seas has arrived in the UK after 14 days of improvement works in Germany, where it underwent a number of enhancements. The ship now has more dining options, high-speed internet services and a number of new retail options.

Among these are Michael Kors and the Britto Art Gallery, along with a range of merchandise and fashion jewellery, including Alexis Bittar, Uno de 50, Lauren G Adams and Nina Nguyen.

Guests can choose from a variety of 20 restaurants, highlighting some of the top dining in the world’s top cosmopolitan cities.

The Suite Lounge is an exclusive lounge area for guests to relax in front of expansive views of the ship and sea, while the Sun Deck gives guests the chance to relax in the sun with both shaded and seating areas.

Oasis of the Seas also launched the first ever Broadway show at sea when it introduced Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cats as part of its schedule.

Its sister ship, Allure of the Seas, is also set to introduce Mamma Mia! as part of its entertainment offering.
