Have Your Say: Does The World Of Cruising Need To Change?

Have Your Say: Does The World Of Cruising Need To Change?

In light of Richard Branson saying that the word cruise was “awful” and saying that he was going to shake up the entire industry, it got the team here at www.CRUISE.co.uk thinking… does the world of cruising need to change?

You can read here about his announcement yesterday in which he said that he would “change cruise for good” as he thought that the industry was lacking in something. He also said that his ships would break the trend of getting larger and larger, and would be building vessels for 2,800 passengers only.

But what do you think of the news?

Here at www.CRUISE.co.uk , we’re very proud of the cruising world and have always been excited by the new innovations and experimentations from all of the different cruise lines out there. Over the last few years we’ve seen ships built that are bigger than most hotels, with skydiving simulators, incredible speciality restaurants and out of this world infinity pools.

One of the other comments that Branson made was that he wanted to change the way that cruise ships were often packed and tended to revolve around the buffet. He also intends to attract passengers that have never considered cruising before.

If the industry is set to change, what would you like to see change more? Be sure to leave us a comment with what you think should change if you picked ‘other’!

Not much is known about what else Virgin will announce in the next few months about their Voyages project, but one thing’s for sure, it’s bound to cause even more controversy!

So there you have it. What do you think of the news? Would you like to see the cruising industry change significantly? Do you want to see more people attracted to cruising? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…
