Free Cruise For Red Nose Day

February 26, 2015

Raising money for a good cause is important. That’s why Cruise and Maritime Voyages has announced plans to support Comic Relief at the launch of its new ship next month.

On March 12th, the cruise line will unveil its latest vessel Magellan, as well as holding a series of fundraising events on the 12th, 13th and 14th.

Comic Relief is a UK-based charity with a mission to eradicate world poverty. Since its launch in 1985, the charity has helped thousands of people across the globe and raised more than £950 million to date.

At each of Cruise and Maritime’s events, a draw will take place at dinner and all tables will have an envelope for guests to donate money to the charity.

Prizes will also be on offer and include one three-night, one six-night and one 14-night cruise.

Mike Hall – head of marketing at Cruise and Maritime Voyages said: “It is an ideal situation for us to help the charity…Red Nose Day is on March 13th, so the timing could not be better.”

Magellan will be Cruise and Maritime’s biggest vessel and will boast a 1,250-passenger capacity. It will join the ships in the line’s existing fleet – Marco Polo, Azores and Astor.

The new vessel will embark on its first maiden voyage from Tilbury, where it will head to the Faroe Islands on a 12-night expedition and provide passengers with the opportunity to see the solar eclipse.

It will also call at Invergordon, Shetland Islands, Reykjavik, and Tórshavn.
