Breaking News! Royal Caribbean Order New Ship

Royal Caribbean have announced that they will be ordering a new fourth Quantum class ship! It is rumoured to be delivered for 2019.

Whilst the order is still subject to financing and other conditions, it leaves us all day dreaming about what it will look like! Her sister ships have features such as:

  • Interactive Chandeliers
  • The North Star
  • A Bionic Bar
  • Virtual Balconies
  • Digital Dashboard

And it is expected that the new ship will go further than this! So we are looking forward to what Royal Caribbean have in store for us in 4 years’ time and how they plan on making the ship even more modern.

The Miami based company confirmed the German ship building company Meyer Werft would be making the new vessel.

“Today’s announcement is a reflection of the success of the first two Quantum-class ships,” said Richard D. Fain, Chairman and CEO, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd in a news release.

“We have received a remarkable response from travel agent partners and travellers, and are thrilled that we’ll be able to deliver another revolutionary ship with our partners at Meyer Werft.”

Two of the Quantum class ships are currently sailing, with Quantum of the Seas launching in November 2014 (with a homeport of Shanghai) Anthem of the Seas was christened last month (which will sail to New Jersey after the summer) and the third ship Ovation of the Seas will be debuting in mid-2016 (and has been built with the Chinese market in mind.)

What do you predict for the 4th vessel of Quantum of the Seas? Are you looking forward to her arrival? Let us know by leaving a comment below.
