Avalon Waterways ‘Feng Shui’ Their Cabins

April 15, 2015

Well… They’ve not really been Feng-shui’d but Avalon Waterways are calling on all river cruisers to experience their re-designed staterooms.

The newly re-designed rooms have all had their beds moved to look out of the cabins giant windows, allowing all passengers to experience some of the most incredible views of Europe available rather than just a view of the wall as so many of their competitors do.

As guests travel they’ll get the opportunity to view hundreds of incredible views from the comfort of their own bed!

In the average cruise cabin, the view from the bed never changes. Travelers are looking at the same scene throughout their voyage: the wall,” said Patrick Clark, managing director of Avalon Waterways. “We had a better idea. We turned our beds so they face out giant windows. To do this, we angled the wall behind the bed – a design innovation that provided two additional benefits. It opened up each stateroom and bathroom, exclusively giving Avalon travellers more space and better views.”

Avalon Panorama suites are 30% larger than your average river stateroom, with the average size of a room being 200 square foot and the smallest room being 172 square foot (we don’t imagine you’ll be feeling too claustrophobic on an Avalon cruise!)

Avalon have taken their own spin when it comes to balconies too… Instead of providing guests with a traditional balcony, the cruise lines Suite Ships offer Open-Air balconies. These are a floor-to-ceiling wall-to-wall windows that open up seven feet wide!

These Open-Air balconies offer their guests fresh air and when closed the balcony can be transformed into a light relaxed sitting area, great for reading a book, relaxing or having a romantic dinner. Not to forget the epic views that this panoramic balcony experience offers – all whilst not having to compromise with room space!
