Upgrades…do I or don’t I?

Many clients tell me that no matter how many cruises they have done they have never had an upgrade.  Now I can’t answer that one as the mystery of an upgrade from a cruise line is like,  is the yeti real!

However what i do know is that certain cruise lines can give you an automatic upgrade, you will not know when they do this and if you didn’t like the position your upgraded cabin was, you cannot go back to your original cabin.  I always ask clients this question as you never know when this can come back to bite you.

Did you know…Celebrity Solstice ships, A2 grade aqua class has a shaded balcony from the overhang from the deck above, and some of the Sky Suite 2 grade suites on the same class ship also have a sheltered balcony! Cabins on P&O Azura and Ventura, balcony on Riviera deck also have shaded balcony’s! Also there are some balcony’s on Emerald and Caribbean Princess B4 grade which have a bean right across your balcony which is classed as an obstructed view!

If there are two couples travelling together and you have chosen cabins next to each other, the cruise line could upgrade one couple and not the other unless you choose to decline the automatic upgrade!

So if you like the position of your chosen cabin and you are offered a possible complimentary upgrade, think of what you could get instead.  I wouldn’t want you to be disappointed.
