Royal Caribbean want to be ‘Big Ben’

As you have probably seen in the news Big Ben will stop chiming soon and will not chime for 4 years due to essential maintenance required.  Always being on the fore front of spin, Royal Caribbean have offered to lend a hand!

The Chief of Royal Caribbean UK Ben Bouldin also known as ‘Big Ben’ has offered to lend one of their ships horns to blast out the chimes in London’s’ Westminster.

Mr Bouldin sent a letter offering the use of a ships horn to the House of Commons speakers office until the renovation is complete in 2021.

What would you think if you were on a trip to our capital and walking through Parliament square and heard rather than the glorious chimes of Big Ben, the sound of a cruise ships horn bellowing out over the Thames?

Just Imagine Westminster dancing like know one cares every hour, or ever every quarter hour.  Mind you London City will be very quiet for the next 4 years, do we need something to replace the famous chimes….or are they too famous top replace?

I did smirk when I heard about this story.  Royal Caribbean in the fore front of technology again!!
