Innovative ships? If they work!

Royal Caribbean have just sent a notification to my client stating that on the ‘Brand New’ Quantum of the Seas Grand Voyage some of their Innovative enhancements on board will not be available to guests!

As you can imagine there will be uproar on board if any of their new exciting themed gimmicks are not finished.  Surely Royal Caribbean should make sure that the new enhancements are working after all this is how they are selling their sailings.

My client are on the Barcelona to Dubai sector and then onto Singapore and the notification from RCCL states,  “As we make our transition from the United States to China we will be doing some enhancements on board to prepare for our arrival in China. Due to the extent of the work required in certain areas, some venues will need to be closed while these improvements are taking place. Music Hall will need to be closed for the duration of your sailing. The live entertainment usually presented in Music Hall will be relocated to other venues in the ship. “Mamma Mia” will not be in production during your sailing in order to prepare for our new show “Sequins and Feathers.” However, the theatre will be open and providing a variety of world-class guest entertainers Emperors of Soul, Westcoast and Masters of the House as well as our own singers and dancers. Additionally, North Star will be closed for the last five days of your voyage”

Now wasn’t ‘Mamma Mia” part of Royal Caribbeans selling strategy?  Also the North Star was heavily involved in their marketing too!

This is very bad by Royal Caribbean, and the small amount of on board credit they are offering in compensation is laughable.  I have advised my client to go to the top with their complaint, it is like you are paying for something and not receiving it in my opinion.

Anthem of the Seas launches from Southampton very soon, lets hope everything is on target to be working on her otherwise again there will be carnage.
