Cunard eventually join the race

Would you believe it! Cunard have gone all inclusive.  For any new bookings clients make on certain sailings in 2015, Cunard are offering a drinks package included based on their Cunard fare pricing, drinks up to the value of $8 if you are in an Inside, ocean view or Balcony cabin and up to $12 for Grills and above.

Celebrity Cruises have had great success with their 123go drinks included offer for many sailings in 2015 and some sailings in 2016 and it looks like Cunard have joined the band wagon….too late people may ask? Celebrity are boasting that up to 50% of their 2016 sailings are sold due to this offer, which subsequently finished on 28th February.

I did post at the start of the year that Cunard and P&O have missed out greatly with not offering a drinks package option.  We have seen loyal clients to Cunard move over to Celebrity because of this (and the prices of drinks on Cunard, if you buy them individually are quite high).  So is it any wonder that Cunard have started their new offer when Celebrity have finished theirs.

Will the atmosphere on board Cunard sailings now change with some people on the all inclusive drinks? Will the loyal Cunarders now look elsewhere if they think their holidays will be ruined bu drunken passengers?  I guess we will find out in due course.
