Are PO getting fussy?

P&O cruises have recently announced that they are banning fancy dress on all of their cruises! Even mini cruises which historically are booked by new to cruise passengers and parties who are celebrating.

I can understand that if you are new to cruising and you book a taster cruise to see if you like it and there is a group of rowdy Hens, Stags or a group celebrating a birthday for example II can see how this is off putting.

Cruising is meant to be fun, enjoyment and create memories.  These restrictions seem to me to be dampening the ‘fun’ about cruising. Just because you are wearing fancy dress does not mean that you are going to be a lager lout and ruin the sailing for others.  Maybe P&O should put more crew on board to monitor guests and if they do get a little out of hand then take them to one side and deal with professionally.

Me personally, I have been on sailings where things have got out of hand between guests and there was not a Scooby Doo or Wonder woman costume in sight!

Also P&O used to allow 2 bottles of alcohol to be taken on board at embarkation to drink in your room.  Now this has been limited to one.  Now i can understand this as the Food and Beverage Manager has targets to hit on board with regards to bar sales.  Also the prices of drinks on P&O cruises are very reasonable, not like the American cruise lines where their individual prices are higher.

So to end this blog, P&O keep the drinking policy…but review the fancy dress policy please!! You may lose clients!
