This Is Ocean Cruising Like Never Before!

On the 31st August 2018 a new ship will be launched.  This ship is called the Scenic Eclipse and i think she sounds rather wonderful!

For the past 31 years Scenic have been delivering some fantastic river cruises and escorted tours around the world and now they have ventured into ocean cruising on a whole new level. The Eclipse will be the world’s first discovery yacht. 6 star, combining luxury, safety and discovery. The ship will hold only 228 guests with such wonderful luxurious accommodation. All balcony suites, personal service with an almost 1:1 guest to staff ratio, ten dining venues from casual to very fine dining.  Butler service for every guest, gratuities included, unlimited drinks. Indoor and outdoor pools, spa and plunge pools, gym, yoga and pilates studio along with complimentary self service laundry and internet.

This sounds fantastic I am sure you agree but that is not all!  Scenic Eclipse wants you to see and feel experiences you would not normally see on a “normal” ocean cruise.  The ship will have a 7 seater submarine on board along with (wait for it) 2 helicopters and then there are the zodiac and kayak excursions. There will be a “discovery team” on board . Experts in their fields, they will share their insights into the environment, history and culture of each region. Just imagine you are cruising down Antarctica, you can actually get on a helicopter and see the wildlife or cruising in the Caribbean, get on the submarine and see the old ship wrecks below you. Just fantastic!

The ship will have of course all the latest technological wonders, which as a woman i have to admit does go over my head a little. I do know that they will have the highest ice class, 2 engine rooms, ice strengthened hull, stabilizers which are 50% larger than other yachts and zero speed technology.

When the ship is launched in August 2018, she will embark on her maiden voyage from Istanbul to Venice before sailing to The Americas; Antarctica; Europe and The Mediterranean; and the Arctic and Norwegian Fjords. At present there are no real pictures of her, only what Scenic are expecting the ship to look like, however, i just think she looks and sounds fantastic. With only 228 guests, I am convinced she will be booked pretty early. I wouldn’t be surprised if there is already a waiting list for the inaugural voyage.

All this luxury does of course come at a price. Although everything is included, it is not really everything as you would have to pay for the submarine and helicopter. If I had that kind of money this ship is 100% what I would be booking.  What about you?!

Till next time x
