How about doing a ship visit ?

Well would you believe most cruise liners offer ship visits to everyone including children, even some cruise liners offer family days where they can show you their facilities for children on board.

With a ship visit, you will be shown around by one of their tour guides which will give you a perfect opportunity to explore what a ship has to offer. You can enjoy a taste of life on board, explore as you wander the decks outside and picture yourself relaxing in the jacuzzis, check out the swimming pools, the sun bathing areas, marvel at the theatres and entertainment venues, browse the bars, have a nosey around the shops, library, lounges, have a good look at different cabins on board, restaurants, the gym and spa and then you can sit down in one of their beautiful restaurants to enjoy a fabulous three course meal.

A ship visit can vary in price with different cruise liners. Prices can start from £25 to £60 per adult and again child prices vary between cruise liner. I know P&O charge £10 for children between 5 and 15, under 5 they are free, children must be of 6 months of age to attend a ship visit.

This would be a perfect opportunity to sample a little slice of the cruising life before you take the plunge and explore what a ship has to offer.
