A Weekend with Ventura

Last weekend I was lucky enough to be part of a conference held on board Ventura. It was my first time sailing with P&O and I must admit, I am really impressed. My journey started at Newcastle Airport at 6am to make the journey down to Southampton  As we all know , you tend to spend so much time waiting around before your actual flight which can be so time consuming . On arrival into Southampton, we took a short taxi journey to the port which was around 15 minutes away and cost £22.00.Embarking was so much quicker at the port. We were checked in within minutes and we were ready to board. I had the pleasure of staying in a balcony cabin on Riviera Deck, cabin R709. This was a sheltered balcony but I would definitely book this again. It had a small table and two chairs which was enough space to sit out and relax, while watching the world go by.

There was more than enough room in the cabin for two. With two twin beds, a dressing table, a small chair, mini bar and TV, Clothes rail and bathroom with shower. The cabin was extremely clean and comfortable I certainly had no complaints.

One of the highlights of my trip was the Sail Away. We all gathered at Breakers Bar on Sun Deck ready to sail. There was live music, the sun had set and there was a great atmosphere, a brilliant start to my mini cruise!  We also had the pleasure of seeing Cunard Queen Mary 2 as she set sail on her mini break.

After Sail away, it was time for a quick change, ready for our evening meal and sample the entertainment before heading off to bed, ready for another early start the next morning in conference followed by an excursion into Bruges. The food, service and entertainment was superb throughout my trip and I will be posting more on these later along with my trip to Bruges.

If you would like any further information on Ventura  as always you can call me on 03333002452 or email [email protected].

Until next time, bye for now x
