The Symphony is here….

Tuesday the 27th March 2018 was a glorious day here on the Costa Del Sol, not just for the weather but Malaga cruise port hosted a visit from Royal Caribbeans new largest ship at sea, The Symphony of the Seas.  I personally live only 25 minutes away from the port and begged my husband to take me in the car to see her after he had finished work.  I must have caught my manager in a good mood too as she let me finish work early.

As we were approaching Malaga I was overcome with a bit of excitement and to be honest I was a little bit speechless.  WOW was the first word that passed my lips….on the drive there you could see the ship from miles away, she is pretty large with 17 decks and can carry as many as 5475 passengers plus the crew.

You could just about see The Abyss which is a 10 story high slide with twists and turns that carry you 100ft down…scary!!

I wasn’t able to board her today for a visit as this was a prearranged visit for Agency’s within Spain and Europe, however that did not stop both myself and my husband just standing there port side staring right up at her and I was secretly wishing we would be sailing away on her later that evening.  I have to say Malaga tourism really did give her a warm welcome to Spain on her way to her summer home port of Barcelona, the evening finished with a sail away party with lots of Fireworks.

It got me thinking about our next cruise holiday, I just cant seem to convince my husband to go on her just yet as he thinks she is just too big!!  What do you guys think? do you like large ships or do you prefer the smaller ships, let me now your thoughts.

Till next time
