Jane McDonald does for Cruise what Joanna Lumley did for Japan!

I don’t know if you have watched either TV series, I loved the Japan series where Joanna Lumley travelled around Japan and she did a huge amount for Japanese tourism and cruising and I have to say I am loving the new series with Jane McDonald cruising around Europe and the Med with various cruise lines and river cruises.

The cruising legend is back with series two of the hugely successful ‘Cruising with Jane McDonald’ back on our screens. She first found fame nearly 20 years ago with the ‘cruise’ documentary,  her latest hit series follows her adventures as she enjoys a different type of cruise each week –   a new four part travel series featuring four different journeys and four completely different experiences set out to discover why cruising is such a popular holiday choice and what has changed since she was last at sea.

Love or hate the Loose Woman you’ve got to admire her enthusiasm and genuine excitement for fluffy towels and her great sense of humour, she shows a different look at cruising  with friendly banter and I love her honest down to earth approach to each cruise – there’s a lot of Jane enjoying glasses of champagne and getting over excited about Hermes toiletries in her cabin bathroom, it also serves as an insightful travel documentary as she samples the delights of the (sometimes unlikely) places she stops off at en-route.

Week 1 she cruised to Scandinavia on the Viking Sky, week 2’s cruise saw Jane set sail for a second time with MSC Cruises on board the brand new flagship MSC Meraviglia which sailed around the western Mediterranean taking in destinations including Naples, Messina, Valletta, Barcelona, Marseille and Genoa and explored the sights and scenery of the Mediterranean, this week she is cruising in France on the Avalon Poetry II – a river cruise along the Rhone,  the final cruise of the series is in the Caribbean on Celestyal Crystal which begins and ends in Havana, Cuba

It’s a great easy watch – stay tuned! Channel 5 – Fridays at 9pm – 4 episodes is just not enough!!
