Its all about Disney , not always for the children!

I have a lot of friends and Family that go to Orlando on a regular basis. We even thought about it for this year ourselves. But as you all know I am not a big flyer. How ever I want to share some of my family and friends adventures with you.

Having now read up a lot on the area there are so many things to see and do, and not just for the children. I know a lot of us are big kids at heart anyway. My sister in law had her honeymoon in Disney and loved every minute. I asked her for some tips

  1. Always buy your passes before you go.
  2. They are so much more expensive and tend to be just 1 or 2 day passes if you wait and buy when you get there.
  3. Check out the multi passes that have entry into Disney, Universal and bush gardens as they are real money savers.
  4. Make sure you take advantage of the picture packages they have , you can get every picture that you have done in the park for one price and they put them on a usb stick for you or email you an address to access them.
  5. Do try to buy a pass that gets you in the V.I.P queues if going in summer as can get really busy.

So from the wonders of Disney and the Disney magic ship. (breakfast with Mickey or a sweetheart kiss from Tigger, they have all your dreams covered young or old.)

I personally think I would prefer universal studios as I am a huge minion fan and love Harry Potter. Then there is Kennedy space centre, this sounds fab and looks amazing. So much to learn.

They do call it the sunshine state

The ports usually used for cruising from Orlando is Port Canaveral:  The attractions of central Florida are a huge lure, and during the 1970s Port Canaveral was first used by cruise ships as a port-of-call with easy access to Orlando. During the 1980s cruise terminals 2, 3 and 4 were built, and Premier Cruises (now bankrupt) and Carnival Cruises ships sailed out of at Port Canaveral, departing for multi-day voyages to the Bahamas. During the 1990s Disney cruises started operating cruises from Port Canaveral, utilizing the new specially built terminal 8. Terminals 5 and 10 were also built in this decade. Today NCL and Royal Caribbean have joined Carnival and Disney in operating cruise vacations from Port Canaveral and more than a million passengers depart on their cruise vacation from Port Canaveral every year. The range of cruises from Port Canaveral include the Bahamas (Freeport and Nassau), the Eastern Caribbean(St Thomas, San Juan and St Maarten), the Western Caribbean(Cozumel, Roatan, Grand Cayman and Belize), and the Southern Caribbean (St Lucia, Barbados and the ABC islands) . Longer cruises are also occasionally on offer, such as re-positioning transatlantic cruises.

To be in keeping with my criminal tv theme or reading, I have just read the Biography of Ted Bundy , some scary reading right there and he was finally executed in the state of Florida , where the death penalty is still used. Theodore “Ted” Bundy (November 24, 1946 to January 24, 1989) was a 1970’s serial murderer, rapist and necrophiliac. He was executed in Florida’s electric chair in 1989. His case has since inspired many novels and films about serial killers, I have seen quite a few of the films and some are based around the Florida State. He is often referred to on Criminal minds as well. Do not forget there is always CSI Miami which quite often head up the coast too.

So after the scary bit , places to see outside the box so to speak, why not try a balloon ride or sea fishing for big game. There are lots of off road experiences in the area. Discovery cove would be a must for me swimming with dolphins is something I have experienced and cried the whole way through. There are so many water Parks you are sure to find one that you love.
