Dubrovnik and Split , with a bit of Malta throne in. GoT eat your heart out !!!!

Well, as I said in my last blog, I came, I saw,  I conquered the Iron throne (ha ha)

I have lots of pictures to share with you but I wanted to start by saying what wonderful places they were. It is always a pleasure to go back to Malta were I repped for Thomas cook for a full Summer. I love the Island. Split was a place i visited may times in my childhood, but I had not been to Dubrovnik before.

First of all we went to Split . We started by doing the game of thrones tour , which was worth every penny. We drove out of Split with our wonderful guide to a run down old castle , but as you can see it was used for when Daenerys spoke with the slaves and the Harpies attacked her. As we walked up the hill I could see the scene open up before me.   I could picture the setting and received brownie points from the guide for knowing the scene. He even gave me a copy of his photo to use in my blog from the filming of the scene.

We then walked right to the top to see the amazing views. After seeing some of the other little parts that were used, we all hopped back in the minibus and back to Split to see were the dragons were held, Were the Harpies fought with the Unsullied.

You have to imagine a staircase coming from the what was a door and Deanerey walking down the stairs to greet her Dragons.

Then it was Dubrovniks turn , to discover where Cersei did the walk of Shame and said good bye to her daughter in the beautiful bay there. Of course the old town was used with a bit of special effects as Kings Landing itself.

I have to say the whole experience was amazing.

There are lots of cruise ships that stop at these ports, NCL, P and O , Thomson and MSC all do in the summer. if you are a massive fan of the show or just love beautiful places then Croatia is a must on your bucket list. Next stop for us will be to visit Belfast in the not too distant future I hope.

Just so you know there are so much more things to see in both Split and Dubrovnik even if your not a fan and dont forget to try the pizza in the back streets in Dubrovnik’s old town , fantastic and really cheap. Split has a market too and they both have enough beautiful places for you to spend more than just one day there, hope to be back soon.
