No kids on a Disney Cruise?

Adventures at Disney have this week announced a new ‘Adults Only’ river cruise along the River Rhine in 2017.

This sailing in October will  coincide with the annual Epcot International Food & Wine Festival and will have culinary theme to it.

As with all Disney River Cruises the excursions are included and during this 8 day cruise from Basel through Switzerland, France, Germany and the Netherlands guests will partake in enriching trips such as a gastronomic walking tour of Riquewihr in France, vineyard tours and wine pairing sessions, a French patisserie class and a waffle demonstration.

Disneyland’s culinary director  John State will also be on board giving demonstrations and hosting workshops.

Disney have partnered with AMAWaterways for their rivers programme and AMA are custom building the AMAKristina for them, she is due to be christened next year.

Now to me the thought of Disney without kids seems very bizarre, having said that I first visited Disneyland as an adult and without children and had a wonderful time. Adventures by Disney have  built a strong reputation for offering immersive, once in a lifetime experiences and have won several travel awards and by booking with them you can rest assured that you will have a fantastic holiday.

I wasn’t convinced that river cruising was the best product to offer for families or  how much of a success it would be for Disney, when they first announced this venture but Ken Potrock, senior vice president of Adventures by Disney has stated “We’ve had an incredibly successful first season of European river cruise vacations,”

However by offering the Disney service with an adult only environment I am sure they are on to a winner.
