Sexy River Set For Take Off

Who says  River Cruising should be more sexy? – The experts apparently.

I’m not sure about that one but according to those in the know,  it needs to become more sexy if it is to grow to its full potential. 2017 will be the year it is set to” blast off” but the River Companies need to develop unique products, for example in the family or city break markets. River Cruising is 10 years behind the Ocean Sector. Yes and I think that’s good we can see what they have done and learn from their mistakes !.

“They have got to make it more sexy and focus on selling their unique features rather than just talking about food and service” – what a cheek ! Last year 150.000 British holidaymakers took a River Cruise and that is an 8% rise on the previous year, but it’s still a tiny piece of the cruising market.

River Cruising is an excellent product I would say the majority of people who take River Cruise holidays don’t want it to suddenly become “sexy” why would they? the reason they choose to sail on the Rivers is more like, they want to go to places the Ocean Liners cant get to or the want quality on board a ship, they want to see cities close up without having to coach to everywhere, they want a nice small intimate ship where they can come and go as they please the list is endless.

A lot of these people have done years and years of sexy big cruise liners from a younger age and are now wanting something different and more “Grown Up” that doesn’t mean it’s boring –  just different.

I have cruised on many River Cruise ships from 3* through to 6* all have their own unique features what ever it may be, all of their staff give an excellent service and plan tours, party nights & competitions meticulously and will probably smile at the request to become “sexy”.
