Emerald Waterways – The Manchester based River Cruise Line has launched the UK’s first Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) River Cruise, who would have thought a River Cruise line would be so brave hopefully this will open peoples eyes now to River Cruising and realise they are not stuck in the dark ages, Good idea or patronising let me know what you think.

Emerald include as standard- All meals and wine, beer & soft drinks with lunch and dinner, daily shore excursions, flights and transfers. and saving the best till last a dual- purpose area that transforms from an indoor heated pool with retractable roof during the day to a cinema at night.

In a move to broaden its customer base and cater for an ever- growing segment of the travel market. The cruise line revealed its LGBT Danube Explorer cruises in October, Emerald Waterways UK brand manager said “we are extremely proud and excited to announce this new cruise”, which is not only a first for the brand but also in the UK.

For a long time, there have been few options that truly cater for the LGBT community, and they are hoping that this new venture will not only be a success but will also provide an amazing experience for the guests on board, people who would not normally give River Cruising a second thought.
