Accessible Options

Facilities today  for clients with disabilities has improved in recent years thankfully on our major Cruise Lines, I have some options for you here and some of them may surprise you,  a wide range of Cruise Lines who are impressing me at the minute.

BALMORAL- Always a firm favourite with the Britts and well equipped to guest’s using Wheelchairs & Scooters, she has nine adapted cabins on various grades, with wide doors and grab rails, a fixed seat in the bathroom, additional mattresses can be provided. Passengers are welcome to bring their own equipment too such as hoists.

HARMONY OF THE SEA – Yes the Worlds largest ship she has 46 adapted cabins. a good idea is their lower level vanity areas, amplified phones, all on board dining venues and bars offers wheelchair access and seating.

DISNEY – With families in mind Disney is a very inclusive line and make every effort to accommodate youngsters with difficulties, including autistic & special needs children who join their youth programme. Disney Dream has 25 disabled cabins.

CRYSTAL SERENITY -Designed to be welcoming for passengers with mobility issues, there are ramp access to most decks and public areas. She has eight dedicated cabins and suites for wheelchair users. Fully wheelchair – accessible bathrooms and wardrobes with low fitting hangars.

CARNIVAL VISTA– Has 65 adapted cabins on the cruise lines largest ship which launched in May. There are two categories Modified and Accessible

Modified are for guests who use a wheelchair or mobility aid – Accessible are ideal for wheelchair users and include ample turning space, clear routes throughout the cabin, lifts include buttons within reach of wheelchair bound passengers and audible signals for the sight impaired.
