Romeo Romeo wherefore art thou Romeo

As most of you that follow my blog will know I returned from Our Fab Lake Garda, Venice trip in October absolutely buzzing with ideas for blogs as I was desperate to tell you about my time in Venice. This will follow on my next blog.

Before I get to Venice however you will note from my rather original title that we stopped off unexpectedly in Fair Verona.

What a treat; A fabulous city with a bustling cultured City Center. lots of shops and restaurants with the typical Al-fresco dining synonymous with the Tuscany region you are never far away from fine wines and exquisite Italian foods.

What I was really impressed with was like so many things in this area arrived at by complete chance. We popped into a Cheese shop to get a coffee and out on the terrace was a river with some stunning views of the city where we witnessed a chap doing some white water rafting training.

A few streets away we were in the Romantic Historical setting of William Shakespeare’s Juliet’s home. It’s a busy tourist spot as you can imagine where everyone wants their photos. Un-married couples traditionally declare their love for each other and legend has it that you may be blessed with ever lasting eternal Love, Lots of people believe if you gently caress Juliette’s breast on the statue you will be truly blessed in love. Its a great photo opportunity whatever your beliefs.

Verona is the perfect City break for those in transit between Lake Garda and Venice or better still if you plan to spend a night or two here there are so many beautiful Vineyard in the surrounding towns and Cities.

Have a look at our photos and feel free to share your city break experiences with me.

if you would like to know more about my time in Venice stay tuned in 2 weeks time here on my blog.
