Our Lake Garda Customers Can Get Lost!

This year has been kind to me. I was asked to go on a few Fam trips with work so Eleni and I were blessed with travel to Cagliari Sardinia for a weekend and a trip to Lake Garda, Venice for a week in October.

I have always imagined the Italian Lakes and falling in love with the alfresco Italian way of eating fine cuisine and drinking fine wines from the Tuscany region.

Let me tell you I was not disappointed. Awash with picturesque lake fronted towns and cities Lake Garda was an absolute triumph. Some of the finest scenery I have seen in all of Europe.

Across three hotels we had a total of 312 guests to look after. We had our work cut out because of the size of the group but it has to be said we had a fantastic team out there.

We stayed at the Grand Hotel the Gardone Rivieria. Which is a stunning residence dating back to the end of the 1st world war. It’s was said to be one of sir Winston Churchill’s favourite hotels and is home to the 1st ever cocktail bar in a hotel in Europe after Chicago’s famous cocktail makers came over to Italy in 1927.

We gauged on fine cuisine and shared remarkable wine in the company of fantastic singers, pianists and guitarists.

It really was everything you would expect on the Italian Lakes.

Where our travels got really exciting was an organised tour of the lakes by boat. We visited the towns of Garda. Sirmione, Limone and Lazise which were completely captivating and immersive in Italian culture. A combination of medieval buildings by the lake as well as a traditional market towns with a plethora of restaurants and vin yards.

Some Of Our Guests Opted For A Bus Tour Of The Lakes Which I’m told was equally as entertaining and a very well put together your by our tour partners.

This is the classic Tuscan Italy I heave heard so much about.

Why our Lake Garda customers can get lost!

These towns are all about loosing yourself and going off the beaten track. You find, smell and taste things in Italy by following this very rule. Sure tick off all the hotspots but put the map away and allow yourself the luxury of getting lost for an hour or or two. This is where you can truly discover Italy and enjoy it the way the natives do…

And what of Verona and Venice.

To be honest there is too much to show and tell you in this blog so you will have to stay Tuned for my forthcoming blog on Verona and Venice.
