Royal Caribbean to spend another $200 million but on what?

Its seems Royal Caribbean have a bottomless pit of cash at the moment as they have just announced to spend another whopping $200 million in 2019. This isn’t to be spent on a brand new ship nor is it to be spent on a refit of a new ship. This money is to be spent on the re invention of Royal Caribbeans private Islands, revolutionising  the biggest makeover of any land programme to date from one cruiseline.

Coco Cay, formally known as little Stirrup Cay will be re invented to create what Royal Caribbean promote as ‘A Perfect Day’ If you have been to Coco Cay or Labadee on Royal Caribbean’s Caribbean schedule then you will see the fun and amazing things you can do as a couple and also a family, creating an imaginary play ground of water parks rollercoasters and zip lines.

So no more tendering thousands of passengers over to the Island of Coco Cay as from late this year there will be a new pier where it will allow you to walk over to the island to save time. Great Idea Royal!

Once there you will be met by a huge water themed area shooting water from cannons eight feet into the air. Hope you don’t mind getting too wet! Other water fun includes a childrens water park with slides drench buckets etc etc. As for us grown ups there will be  largest freshwater swimming pool in the Caribbean , with its own swim up bar, islands, infinity pool, inwater lounges and over the water cabanas with private waterslides. This has my name written all over it.

I am actually off to Labadee later this year and although the makeover wont start in Labadee just yet as Coco Cay is the first Island to have the makeover, I will definitely be taking advantage of the over the water cabana. With the drinks package included I have wonderful visions of my cabana person bringing me over my much needed thirst quenching cocktail as I watch the activities.

Add zorbing , soccer fields, paddleboarding, basketball and volleyball to the mix and for most of us you really will have The Perfect Day.

I am counting the days.
