Cherry Blossoms in Japan 2018 REGISTER NOW!

Cherry Blossoms in Japan has been a must see for years but only recently it has become a most sought after time to visit Japan for UK passengers. I have been inundated for itineraries to see the Cherry Blossoms over the last few months but unfortunately there have been limited cruiselines offering a departure to Japan for Spring 2018 until now.

So why are they so popular-

Springtime in Japan offers you some of the most beautiful floral views in the world when Cherry Blossom trees come out in full bloom and the pink and white Sakura petals offer the most romantic of backdrops in many a location.

Every year Cherry Blossoms first appear in Southern Japan city of Okinawa and then move northwards to Hokkaido by early May. Early April is the peak time to view the Cherry Blossoms in many cities but of course it is solely dependent of the Weather and planning the exact time of full bloom can be difficult, but to give you an idea here is the forecast for 2017 when the stunning Sakura Flowers are in full bloom. Cherry Blossom viewing is known as Hanami Season.

KAGOSHIMA 6TH – 14 APRIL

NAGASAKI – 02ND – 10TH APRIL

HIROSHIMA 03RD – 11TH APRIL

KYOTO 4TH – 12TH APRIL

OSAKA 4TH – 12TH APRIL

NAGOYA 02ND – 10TH APRIL

YOKOHAMA 2ND – 10TH APRIL

TOKYO 2ND – 10TH APRIL

FUKUSHIMA 10TH – 18TH APRIL

AKITA 22ND – 26TH APRIL

HAKODATE 02ND – 9TH MAY

In Tokyo you have the Shinjuku Gyoen Park which is home to over a 1000 Cherry Blossom Trees and is one of the largest public parks in the capital. The park opens from 09.30 to 4.30 in Hanami Season and you can imagine the crowds so be aware of this.

In Kyoto you have Philosopher’s Path which runs along the canal providing wonderful views and of course to watch many people in traditional Kimono Dress. After visiting Kyoto in September last year Kyoto was one of my favourite places to visit and I can only imagine the scenery when the blossoms are in bloom. You can always visit Maruyama Park at night when the Cherry Trees are lit up and food stalls are in abundance for you to sit down, eat and admire the view.

Hanami Parties are in abundance with many Japanese where they sit and eat picnics under the Cherry Trees! This sounds wonderful to me.
