Halloween on a cruise??

Halloween is frighteningly close now, which means time is running out to create the perfect costume! You might be that bit too old to go out trick or treating on Halloween, however you can bet there will be plenty of Halloween events for you to get involved with. Cruise passengers can also expect spooky celebrations on the high seas as cruise lines get into the holiday spirit – with everything from costume parades and contests to special holiday drinks.
Find ghosts, ghouls and more on these Halloween cruises.

Halloween on the High Seas with Disney: Disney Cruise Line is already celebrating Halloween on its four ships. All sailings through October feature Halloween decorations, culinary treats (including spider cakes and “Spooky Juice”) and themed deck parties. A Pumpkin Tree is part of the scene. Other favorites include Mickey’s Mouse-querade Party, a celebration with games, dancing and candy. Disney characters have adorable Halloween costumes, of course. Don’t miss “The Nightmare Before Christmas” Sing and Scream – an interactive movie experience where guests interact with Jack Skellington and Sally. My children would absolutely love this!

Royal Caribbean: Children and adults are encouraged to dress in costume and get into the “spooktacular spirit.” Activities include trick-or-treating, a haunted mansion, pumpkin carving and other special events. Crew gets into the spirit, with ghostly zombies prowling the halls. There’s an evening passenger costume parade with prizes. Other special contests might include “howl at the moon” and “girl scream.” Expect a rendition of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” and such hits as “Monster Mash” playing at a late-night dance party.

Holland America Line:Passengers are encouraged to get creative for the costume contest. You’ll also be asked to choose the best pumpkin carved by the crew. Save room after dinner on the 31st for a dessert extravaganza, with themed cakes and other sweets. Kids will have opportunity to collect treats. Celebrate further in ports such as Key West and Quebec City by booking a ghost tour shore excursion.

Norwegian Cruise Line: Norwegian cranks up the Halloween cruise party machine with traditional decorations, displays, goodies and specialty cocktails, featuring Transylvania tea, Frankenberry martinis and eyeball martinis. Buffet stations feature full-size carved pumpkins, mini-pumpkins and chocolate showpieces shaped in Halloween imagery. Tasty treats include pecan and caramel “spiders,” pumpkin bars, candy and haunted cupcakes. Costume wearing is highly encouraged

Carnival Halloween: Find things “Frightfully Fun” on Carnival ships on October 31. All the ships will be decorated, and kids ages 1-17 are invited to participate in a scavenger hunt and trick-or-treat along the Promenade. Adults get their own costume contest too (masks are not allowed), as well as a Halloween Dance Party in the nightclub. Scary movies will be shown on cabin TVs and outdoors on the big Dive-In movie screens – including a Halloween Horror movie at midnight. Celebrate in the casino with a special Witching Hour Tournament or show your artistic side at a pumpkin-carving contest. Special cocktails and desserts will be part of the scene too.

Princess Cruises: Pack your costume for a Halloween parade and contest. During Halloween week there will also be theme nights and special events for kids. Learn to carve a Jack-O-Lantern, participate in Halloween-themed trivia contests and take the kids trick-or-treating. Movies and TV programming will also reflect a Halloween theme.

If you fancy this let me know and i’ll happily check to see if I can get you on a ship!
