What are your plans for Christmas?

I cannot believe it is twelve months since I posted a pre-Christmas post! Where on earth has the time gone? The older I get, the quicker the years fly by. And what a year 2018 has been, so many new ships launched with many more to come in 2018. Seabourn, Viking, Silversea and NCL have all launched new ships and MSC have launched Meraviglia and Seaside, with Seaview to follow shortly. I think they are trying for world domination in the industry!

Anyway, I am writing from the armchair with a steaming mug of hot chocolate while I recover from this afternoons trip to the supermarket, it was absolute bedlam! Anyone would think Christmas is coming lol, and we still have over a week to go. I shall gird my loins later in the week to do the ‘big shop’ as Christmas for me this year is the same as most years, and just the way I like it, at home with all the family. This year there will be eight of us plus a two year old, and two dogs, one of which is a very lively one year old Cocker Poo. What could possibly go wrong?!

I love Christmas a home, I am very traditional like that. Many years ago when the children were younger we spent Christmas in the French Alps Skiing, and lovely though it was it just wasn’t Christmas for me. Home is the place to be.

That said, many of my lovely clients are heading off on cruises, of course, many of them seeking out the sun in the Caribbean and no doubt they will have a fabulous time – all the cruise ships are decorated for the festive season and of course Turkey and all the trimming will be on the menu, even if the weather is tropical, Christmas is very much celebrated on board.

So how do you spend the festive season? Are you traditional like me, a home bird, or do you like to do something different? Have you ever spent Christmas on a cruise ship? Everyone has their own way of celebrating Christmas, or trying to escape the commercial madness that is has become these days!

However you choose to spend the next couple of weeks, I hope that Christmas is everything you want it to be for you and yours.

For now, I would like to thank all my lovely clients for booking with me during 2017 and I look forward to helping you find your dream cruise in 2018.

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.
