Cruising into February already!

Goodness, time is certainly flying isn’t it. I can’t believe we are well into February already with January having flown by in the blink of an eye. To be honest it’s always the same for those of us in the cruise industry, this is such a busy time of year for us as this is the best time to bag the bargains so clients are booking hand over fist. You turn round twice and suddenly it’s Easter!

There are some excellent deals to be had, most of which will be available until 28th February. With so much competition the cruise lines are throwing in all sorts of extra benefits to tempt clients, all-inclusive drinks packages, free wi-fi, ‘buy one get one half off’ – possibly the most confusing campaign ever launched by a cruise line, and £99 flights. Added to which we are offering free parking, wine packages and extra on board credit. Clients are becoming keen to do something different and whilst they are still booking ‘old favourties’ such as the Med, the Baltic’s etc, river cruising and our fabulous land tour/cruise packages to far flung locations are becoming increasingly popular as they offer so much more than the usual, well-trodden ports of call. The land tour/cruise packages especially are excellent for getting away from the madding crowds and visiting more remote locations – all tied in with a fabulous cruise of course!

Having said that the early part of the year has flown by, it has been a strange one for me as my youngest has been away for almost seven weeks now on his fabulous Far East trip, no cruise for him though. He is currently nearing the end of his travels and is in Myanmar, having already visited Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos. We have been in regular contact thanks to this ‘face time’ thingy and I have also been able to see most of the wonderful places he has visited thanks to social media. Wow! What a trip he has had! He has ticked off most of my Bucket List in that region – Angkor Wat, Halong Bay, the Killing Fields, sunrise hot air balloon ride in Bagan, cruising along the Mekong and spending nights in Bamboo huts in remote villages without electricity. There will be lots to tell when he gets home in about ten days. I am on countdown now! He has eaten some strange things, Scorpion and Tarantula, along with lots and lots of noodles he tells me and he is looking forward to a roast chicken dinner when he gets home. I probably won’t be cooking him my Thai Curry for a while, I think he is ‘noodled out’ just now.

Well, that’s it for now folks, if you are interested in booking a cruise feel free to contact me on  0800 408 6084, or 0330 303 8184 from a mobile, or email me at [email protected] and as always I will be happy to help you.

Happy Cruising!
