Jane’s Back on Board!

If you watched the last series of  ‘Cruising with Jane Macdonald’ you’ll be pleased to hear that she is all set to climb aboard for a second series!  Starting on 01 September 2017 on Channel 5 at 9pm. Jane will be on board the Viking Sky sailing around the Baltics.

I have to say I’m not a fan of hers.  I watched her on the original The Cruise show back in 1998 which of course made her a household name.  So when the first series of Cruising with Jane was aired last year, I was interested to find out exactly what she was going to teach me about cruising, which was her promise.  Sadly, not alot.  It showed me quite a bit of her shopping, and meeting old friends & dressing up for dinner,  but not about the ship she was on at the time. Barely mentioning in it…  So I found it a bit too self-appreciating, and of course, no episode could end without an excuse for her to burst into song…..

Here’s some of the places she will be visiting   Dont read if you want to be surprised on the night!

Stockholm – a guided tour round the ABBA Museum. She becomes the ‘Fifth Member of ABBA  (Any excuse for a sing-song)

Helsinki –  Jane  meets a woman whose ambition it is to kiss a brown bear.  (I bet there’s a song in there somewhere!)

St Petersburg – She heads to the Hermitage Museum, and comes face-to-face with one very surprising celebrity Russian doll! (I can feel a song coming on – perhaps a duet?…..)

Tallin – A medieval jewel of a town where Jane joins an excursion to look at the ancient architecture and learn about the region.

I did this cruise last September, not unfortunately on board the Viking Star, but the ports of call were amazing!  You can read my previous blog for a more detailed account of my experience  here.

Episode 2 finds her in Cuba on board Celestyal Crystal, which I will be very interested in as I plan a cruise there myself next year. Hopefully without her warbling in the background!

She will also be gracing the decks of MSC Meraviglia to the Med, and Avalon Poetry II along the Rhone.

The first episode will air on Channel 5 on Friday September 1 at 9pm.

So despite my hesitation, I will be glued to the TV on 01 September 17 watching her swan about talking about everything but the ship no doubt!  Oh and of course lets not forget the song at the end…….
