It’s Official – Cruising Is Good For Your Health!

If you have ever needed an excuse to book a cruise or just wondered if life on the ocean waves would suit you?  Then the results of a study carried out by the university of China have revealed that cruising is good for your health, long term happiness and may even boost your IQ. They have also reported that the positive benefits of taking a cruise can last up to 6 months after your return home.

The ‘emotional’ part of your brain targets emotions and feelings such as joy and happiness. Cruising, for me, is a great way to spend time not only with your friends and family but you are also constantly  meeting new people on board, and I have always found that fellow passengers tend to be friendly and engaging and this helps your brain by making you feel happy and excited.

The thinking part of our brain is also used more as we visit new places and see new sights. The research suggests that going on a cruise is better for your wellbeing than a usual resort based holiday as on most cruises you make stops at different ports and get time to visit new sights or you learn something new whilst on board – dancing, ice carving, whatever rocks your boat!

This all sounds fantastic doesn’t it? But, a few words of caution……………….

Whilst the brain and soul are being improved and looked after, make sure you follow a few simple rules as well – Hygiene has got to be one of the most important rules to follow on a ship as you are in close contact with lots of fellow passengers and crew, wash your hands, use the hand sanitisers, avoid trailing your hands on the ships hand rails, use common sense when touching loo doors and lift buttons.

Because all the well being with your heart and soul is no good if you are confined to your cabin looking at 4 walls is it?
