Is Cruising With Children A Good Idea Or Not?

Is cruising with children a good idea or not?

I know it only seems like 2 minutes ago that you were getting your suitcases out of the loft and dropping your dogs off at the kennels – but where has this year gone?

It is already difficult to walk out of the supermarket without a box of Roses chocolates in your shopping bag, I mean, how small are the tubs these days? But that’s a topic for another day!

So, I know that very soon thoughts will turn to our plans for Summer 2018. Perhaps you are used to spending your holidays in a hotel or apartment and you haven’t considered a cruise before, and cruising with a family throws up lots of questions – will they be bored? Is it safe? what can the children do when on board?

Hopefully, I can answer some of your questions and put your mind at rest.

In my opinion cruising is suitable for all age groups.

The cruise lines have family friendly ships so that those looking for peace and quiet know not to opt for one of those. They offer family entertainment, child friendly pools, areas exclusively reserved for children.

You can enjoy quality time together as a family, lazy days on board and explore the different destinations together.  The cruise lines also offer free childrens clubs,  these are split into different age ranges and usually cover from ages 2 to 17. Children can enjoy age appropriate activities – scavenger hunts, trips to the bridge, fancy dress, arts & crafts, cake decorating – if you can think of an activity then it is probably catered for by one of the cruise lines. For the cool teenagers, they can play on computer consoles, bumper cars, flow riders and some even have their own sun decks .

If you are a fan of ” all inclusive ” then don’t worry as many cruise lines now offer a drinks package, whether it’s free or to buy before your cruise.

So, if you are thinking of a cruise with your children next year I am positive that I can offer a cruise that will meet your needs, so why not give cruising a try.
