Friendly San Fransisco

This year I celebrated my Big 50. I have always wanted to travel down the Pacific Highway in an open top sports car – picture it – red Corvette, wind blowing through my hair –  very Thelma and Louise!!!!! So in June this year my Husband and I boarded a flight to San Fransisco ( not sure he liked being called Louise!!! ) From the moment we arrived we felt so relaxed and at ease.  It has to be one of the friendliest cities I have visited.

When we travel,  we try to experience places as the locals do. One afternoon we were travelling by bus to the area where the hippie movement began, Haight –  Ashbury. We were unsure of where to get off and started chatting to a guy beside us. He was so friendly and knowledgeable about his City, he even got off the bus at the correct stop for us , showing us where and what to see. It was only as he was leaving I noticed he had a bicycle with him, he got onto it explaining that he had got off way before his stop to help us. I was amazed with his kindness. How great  was that? He didn’t ask for anything in return.

This was just one of many examples of the friendliness we encountered. Has anyone else experienced  this in San Fransisco? I would love to know.
