Women Only Cruising: Sexist or Smart?

So I read a really interesting article recently about a tour company that is poised to start running Women Only Cruising.

At first I thought, what a great idea, why should women be subjected to our bloke-ish ways on their holidays, and if the shoe was on the other foot and if the article read Men Only Cruising, i’d be thinking yeah that sounds like great fun, no screeching women, crying, nagging, handbags everywhere etc ………Oh no wait, I wouldn’t say that, because it’s horrendously sexist!

Reading the article from a mans perspective I couldn’t but feel like this is an unnecessary snipe at us men!

I mean, I’m an absolute delight to be around on holiday, especially on a cruise. Just ask the wife!

Of course I’m being big headed here but the point I’m making is that frankly at my age now I could not think of anything worse than going on an exotic cruise without her. Defeats the whole object of being in a relationship!

Even for single folks, where’s the fun in single sex cruising! No chance of a holiday romance then is there! And everyone loves a holiday romance don’t they?

It just makes me think that this tour company has some bitter, angry spinster at the helm! But I’m a firm believer that there is someone out there for everyone, and what better way to meet them then on a like-minded, beautiful ship in wonderful surroundings? Maybe the organizer should take a few holidays herself before trying this out! And if it’s a man that’s come up with this idea, well…………….there are no words.

I think I’ve gone down the relationship path with this a little bit too much perhaps, but can you blame me, I read the article on Valentines Day of all days! So that’s where my brain went with it!

So the question is this, without getting into anything too heavy, is this a sexist idea, or is it smart? Would you prefer to do a same sex holiday and why?
