Happy Anniversary to me….

Hello everyone,

Thursday marks a momentous day for me as I will be celebrating 2 years since joining Cruise.co.uk and I really can’t believe how fast the time has gone… and I must say that not once have I looked back, it truly was a fantastic decision.

I just wanted to take this blog to cover some of my many highlights, firstly “Educationals” – which you will have read about on separate blog posts – but for those new to following me.. to read more about any of these trips, please click the selected blog.   A lot of friends and family just think that I am always on holiday.. ok yes to a point but it is also of great help to my job for me to be able to experience different cruise lines to feed back to my customers.

2016 – I finished the year with 2 great “work” trips..

Dubai hosted by MSC Cruises: Including spending a day on board the MSC Fantasia and my first time experiencing the delights of Dubai, an extremely diverse City offering somewhere for everyone as either a stopover en-route to Asia or Australia or to visit as a pre/post cruise stay.

Dublin Fred Olsen Mini-Cruise: My first Cruise.co.uk conference took place on board the Fred Olsen Boudicca for 3 nights from Liverpool over to Dublin.  I had both cruised with Fred Olsen previously and also visited Dublin.  However this was a great trip and I also learnt so much more about the company and met up with colleagues old & new.

2017

April: I was a lucky winner of a Princess Cruises competition to win a place on the inaugural sailing of Majestic Princess.  Cruising from Trieste – Rome with a stop in Kotor, a stunning port offering a spectacular sail away through the fjords.

October: Celebrity Eclipse Seminar at Sea – My First cruise with Celebrity, and hopefully not my last.. this was a 4 night cruise involving some “classroom” training but mainly to experience the product as a passenger. Sailing from Southampton to Tenerife and spending a day in the lovely port of Funchal.

November: Shearings River Cruise – My first ever River Cruise, again an experience I would love to repeat – maybe in the summer though !!

Personal holidays (cruise related) over the last 2 years have included a 2 night mini-cruise to Bruges with P&O on the Britannia and also an NCL Eastern Mediterranean Cruise combined with a pre-cruise stay in Venice.  A city that had long been on my wish list and did not disappoint.  Also the stunning itinerary taking in Athens, Olympia, Dubrovnik, Split and a return to Kotor.

I hope you enjoy this look back over my first 2, hopefully of many, years here at Cruise.co.uk.  I continue to  learn new things in my job, and like to keep up to date with various training courses and ship visits.   Even after being in the cruise industry now for coming up to 30 years, there are so many new cruise ships coming to the market and new products that we are able to offer you.  2017 also saw me take to the skies for a different type of trip – a massive personal challenge of a 15’000 Skydive.

But for now it’s time to make the sure the bottle of Champagne is bought for chilling to crack open on the 1st February, to celebrate my anniversary and also the end to an exceptionally busy month – and as i write this it is set to be my BEST EVER..

Cheers to all of you – I couldn’t do this without you. !!
