    Heritage of America - new and exclusive to

    Hello forum folk, you may or may not have recently received an email from us advertising a brand new luxurious tailor made package titled Heritage of America. For those of you who didn't receive the original details I thought it would help to add the highlights here as well.

    It's on one of my favourites ships, the QM2, (click here to see some pictures if you've never seen her before), sailing on the 14th of September 2012. It's a Transatlantic crossing, arriving in New York where you will begin a once in a lifetime tour following the Epic story of American Democracy, (or so our marketing department tell me).

    7 night cruise on the QM2

    Arrive in New York and transfer to the Sheraton to begin your land tour.

    22nd September 2012
    Meet your fellow travellers at a tradition NY dinner for breakfast. A local guide will then a tour of the Big Apple including Greenwich village, Wall street, Little Italy, Chinatown, the Empire state building, United Nations, Chrysler building and other historic land marks.

    NYC - Philadelphia - Pennsylvania - Lancaster
    Travel to Philadelphia and begin a tour of the Birthplace of a New Nation with highlights such as the liberty bell and Independence Hall. Then continue on to Amish country in Lancaster, the second largest Amish community in America.

    24th September 2012
    Visit Wheatland, the home of James Buchannan the 15th President of the USA. Make a stop at Kitchen Kettle Complex to purchase hand crafted jams, jellies and relishes.
    You will then be taken to enjoy dinner with an Amish family in their home.

    Lancaster - Gettysburg - Shenandoah Valley - Virginia
    Travel to Gettysburg, site of one of the most famous battles in American history. Then travel to Shenandoah park via the famous Skyline Drive.

    Colonial Williamsburg
    Visit the Home of Thomas Jefferson, 3rd President of the USA and author of the Declaration of Independence.
    That evening dine in the Williamsburg tavern specialising in Colonial fare.

    27th September 2012
    Williamsburg - Washington DC
    Enjoy a short film introducing you to Williamsburg where actors will stroll the streets around you in period dress. One of the largest 'living' museums in the world.
    (Breakfast included).

    28th September 2012
    Washington DC
    Visit Mount Vernon home of George Washington, first president of the USA.
    Then travel on to DC and explore the Smithsonian which holds objects as rare and valuable from the Hope diamond to the command module of Apollo 11.

    29th September 2012
    Washington DC
    Visit the Tomb of the Unknown soldier and the Kennedy grave sites. Visit the White House visitor centre and then travel on to Capitol Hill.

    30th September 2012
    Washington DC - Heathrow
    Fly home to Heathrow overnight

    01st October 2012
    Arrive home

    Wow good cruise and good historical places to visit , I did these and went further south by coach with Kuoni in the 1991, started in NY, itended up In Miami,.
    You on't be dssapointed and the added bonus is the QM. CG
