    Lufthansa

    Hi

We've booked a cruise on Splendour of the Seas through Royal caribbean and have been given Lufthansa flights from Heathrow to Venice via Dusseldorf. I just wondered if anyone else has flown this route before and how easy the transfer at Dusseldorf was.

    Thanks

I don't know Dusseldorf but have flown Lufthansa many times (usually connecting in Frankfurt) and have found the airline excellent.

Dusseldorf is probably one of the easiest airports to change at, along with Munich. Lufthansa are great, we've done their flights a couple of times and had the changes in Dusseldorf and Munich. We also had to change in Frankfurt once which is a complete nightmare, but you'll be fine with Dusseldorf I'm sure!

    Enjoy!

we have just cancelled our proposed cruise because of the "split flight syndrome."Can't speak for Munich.but it was a complete and utter shambles at FRANKFURT.The liason between the airlines and the cruise companies is diabolical, they just seem to fill various aircraft with the empty seats".

Pete, save yourself some money, book cruise only, book your own 'Direct' flights from an airport of your choice.

Some of us wouldn't have it any other way.............Wilba

Wilba it is easy if you live down south to book direct flights to nearly anywhere but it is much harder from Scotland. fine for Spanish airports but not so good for further afield.

don't want to work, just want to cruise.

We live half an hour from BHX and find it much easier to fly to whatever hub is relevant in Europe than to travel to Heathrow. My husband travels for business and in his experience Frankfurt is the worst airport for losing luggage. Fortunately it is usually on the return journey, but still inconvenient. He has worked out that his bags go missing around 18% of the time. If they lost your bags on the way out they might never catch up with the cruise. Judith
