Hi we are stopping in port at Tenerife in March and my Husband wants to go and see the Parrots which I believe are at Loro Park? Could anyone tell us if it is worth us booking thru the cruise lines excursion (P and O) or is it near the port where we can arrange to go there ourselves? How much can we expect to pay if we do our own trip not thru the cruiseline.

hi we were in tenerife in oct. is it santa cruz port? Loro park is in puerto de la cruz and there is a local bus between the two places for just a few euro each, think it was about 6. cheaper with a bono card, it takes about 1 hour to the main bus station and then from the centre there is a free ride to loro park which takes 10-15 mins. the parrot shows are on twice in the day and parrots in enclosures throughtout the park to look at. you definatly need a full day if you are to see all the different shows at the park. i would advise you check out the tenerife forum as they have lots of information.
