    There's a lot to see

    .

    HMS Victory's bow

Spinnaker Tower and HMS Warrior -with old anchors in the foreground

Big as it is, this won't hold Independence of the Seas.
This may be one of Victory's anchors?
It's positioned quite near to her..

    You missed Henry VIII

There is also a model of King Henry VIII in full regalia and presenting to all his cod-piece, which is one of the largest I have even seen.

My German sister-in-law was so amused by it she couldn't stop giggling for a full hour after coming across it. ......Neil

Miss Henry? --I don't think so!

I'm attaching two pics taken at Portsmouth
    -near the Mary Rose exhibit-

    I'm fairly sure they're both Henry...aren't they?

It used to be like this

Bowsprit rigging on HMS VICTORY, Portsmouth Harbour!
Agile boys and keen young men
climbed up and down these ropes at some risk, setting sails

I live but 15 mins from here so really should add some hints and tips. Spinnaker Tower is also mentioned in this thread but it's worth mentioning Gunwharf Quays. This is the shopping and leisure complex adjacent to Spinnaker Tower. It has a host of outlet shops as well as many waterfront restaurants, a bowling alley and a 10 screen cinema.

Most importantly Gunwharf Quays has a set of moorings where a number of boats depart on Harbour Tours. This is a great way of seeing many of the Royal Navy ships that are in harbour as well as gain an appreciation for the size of the harbour that has such a tiny entrance.

Please note that there is no dedicated cruise terminal at Portsmouth, although Fred Olsen did depart from Portsmouth a couple of times in 2009. The main passenger vessels that leave the harbour are the LG Lines and Brittany Ferries to France as well as the Wight Link vehicle and passenger ferries to the Isle of Wight

Funny that you should mention Gunwharf Keys
because when we were finished with our historical tour, we walked over there
did some shopping, had a bite, and admired a large-ish ferry coming in!

A good day in all, and worth considering if you're down that way.
    Portsmouth's okay!
    ;)
