Navigator of the sea with the family

Six weeks passed quickly as usual with the children saying they hadn’t done much (forgetting we went to London for the weekend) and weren’t overly happy about returning to school.  Our summer holiday was booked for the last week so I appreciate they did have a bit of a wait. We went on Navigator of the seas for 7 nights from Southampton. I can honestly say I gave my holiday 11 out of 10!. It was perfect, food was fantastic and aplenty, wine and cocktails for that matter too. My children made friends with two brother’s on the first day and I hardly saw them at all. I really noticed it this year with how relaxed I felt with them being off at the sports court or arcade or swimming compared to other holidays. I knew they were completely safe, they knew where I was (Sky bar with a Pina Colada) and they had the best holiday.

One of the highlights was seeing the Ice show-one word amazing! The skaters albeit professional were fantastic and the jumps and spins they did were breathtaking. I was in awe. The next day I took the boys ice skating which was hilarious, but also to see the rink in day light I was truely amazed how the skaters could do all the moves on a rink that size. If you haven’t seen it, its not small but not huge either.

On one occasion we ate in the Sapphire restaurant which is the main waiter service and you have allocated times. The decor is fabulous and looks very traditional. The portion sizes here are more ala carte but still enjoyable. Our favorite place to dine was the Windjammer. The selection of food was incredible and I never once had a bad meal. The meals varied from roast dinners to curries and plenty of salads, cold meats, steak and mushroom pie. This was mouthwatering. The desserts again had something for everyone, sticky toffee pudding, cookies, mousse and a self serving ice cream machine which the children loved.

Hope you enjoyed reading my Blog as much as I did researching it for you. Keep an eye out for the next one which will be about Lisbon.
