Independence vs Ventura. The Verdict is in!!!!!

Over the last 2 month I have been lucky enough to go on the Ventura and the Independence of the seas. The Ventura was in September and the Independence in October. They both did a similar itinerary and I wanted to give you a quick summary of both and my verdict of which one came out on top.

Check in. I live in Southampton so with both options the port is very easy for me to get to. On The ventura we were given a number and when our number was called we could start queuing to get our passports checked. On the Independence I had no wait what so ever. They had plenty of staff and within 25 minutes of leaving my house I was on board.  1-0 Independence

Food. With Both Options I opted for freedom dining. If they don’t have a table for you they will give you a buzzer when the table is ready. We had dinner about 7.30pm. In between 01st and 02nd sitting. This worked very well as there was no wait for a table. I would say the standard of food on the Independence was better however on the Ventura they had more courses. The service on both ships was exceptional. Overall I say this was a draw. 2-1

Entertainment. For me on this one it was an absolute no brainer. The independence wins this hands down. I went to see a take that tribute on both ships. (Obviously it was the wife’s choice) The difference being Independence seem to get the number one tribute in the country compared to Ventura that could just be there staff. On the second night on the independence we went to see Grease the Musical from the London West end. Again another fantastic show. As well as the shows there is always different areas to go and see quality entertainment. P&O have some catching up to do here. 3-1

Price. Well they do say you get what you pay for. Ventura wins this one. For the same itinerary Ventura was a couple of hundred pounds cheaper. For the Price Ventura is definitely worth going and I would do it again. 3-2

Overall. If the price and itinerary were exactly the same then there is no doubt that Independence wins hands down. It is more glitzy there is more for children the promenade is fantastic and it oozes class. I cant really see anything on Ventura that was better than Independence overall That being said I would still go back on Ventura as it was good but independence was excellent. Independence wins 4-2 and probably a little bit more.

Do you agree with me. Would love to hear your feedback
