Smurfette’s onboard

This past weekend saw cruise.co annual Christmas conference on the Fred Olsen Boudicca, we had a night in port at Liverpool and then sailed onto Ireland for a day in Dublin.

Boudicca

As mentioned in my previous blog, my colleague Alison and myself had kept our costume idea under wraps for the 80’s fancy dress night. As you can imagine, there was a few Madonna’s, men in shell suits, Heidi Hi, Black Lace, Mario and Luigi, He-Man and She-Ra, Rubik Cubes, Elliott with ET and plenty of people in ‘Choose Life’ and ‘Frankie says Relax’ T-shirts. Then there was Alison and Myself and another colleague Jo whom had the same idea as us!

As normal, it wasn’t just about fun (although we all did have a great time), it was also time to reflect on the past year and look forward to the forthcoming year with lots of great things happening in the cruise industry.

With presentations from the big names in cruising with MSC Cruises, Princess Cruises, Celebrity Cruises, Fred Olsen, Royal Caribbean, Avalon Waterways, Silverseas and many more suppliers, it was great to learn all about the up and coming year with new products, offers, ships and sailings. So watch this space for more to come…

So after a couple of long days in conference, it was time to hit Dublin and enjoy some Irish culture, and what better way to do that then hit Temple Bar on a Saturday afternoon. If you have never been to this vibrant city, then it is a must. Temple bar is an area full of bars, with live music all day and as they say in Ireland, where you will always have a good craic.

So after a day of drinking the black stuff and singing Christmas songs, it was time to head back to the ship for our last night on board and the journey home the following day.

I would just like to take this opportunity to wish you all a fantastic Christmas and a very happy and prosperous new year for 2017.

The future looks bright, the future is cruising…
