I’m off to be a holiday rep…

Well for the week anyway.

Here at cruise.co.uk as many of you already know, we don’t just sell cruises we also sell experiences or also known as Tailor Made, Smart Packages and Bucket List holidays. Of course all include a cruise but also flights, transfers hotels and some with tours too.

One of our Tailor made offers for 2016 was to sail from Southampton to Genoa on the MSC Splendida and then have 3 nights in Lake Garda and 2 nights in Venice. This is also an offer that we currently have for October 2017 on the MSC Preziosa, in case you are interested…

So as part of the package myself and 5 other colleagues are travelling to Italy to meet the guests from the ship and get them to their next port of call, Lake Garda.

I love Italy, but have never been to Lake Garda, so am looking forward to seeing this area and sampling the local Italian cuisine. I am hoping the weather will be good, so that we can enjoy some time on the lake itself.

So after a few days here, we will then take the group to Venice.

I have been to Venice a few times now, for a long weekend when I got to really explore and a couple of times via cruising of course.

We are staying in Venice Mestre on the mainland approx 20 mins from the Island. I am looking forward to staying here as an alternative to being on the Island. I stayed previously not to far from St Marks square on the Island and although stunning, it was very expensive for eating and drinking. Plus we was there in winter and risked the floods that the winter rains can bring. Something a few of my colleagues experienced the year after me being there at that time.

So watch out for my next blog which will hopefully be full of sunny photos of Italy and some tips if you are thinking of doing this itinerary in 2017.
