Bellissima Bellas

MSC will be christening their new ship MSC Bellissima in Spring 2019 and this time the spectacular event will take place in Southampton.

MSC are renowned for their amazing ship launches with Sophia Loren in attendance as their godmother, although this is yet to be confirmed, this will be one big celebration in Southampton. Bellissima will be docked in Southampton for three days from March 1st to 3rd, with the naming ceremony taking place on March 2nd.

The last ship MSC Christened in the UK was Poesia in 2008 at the port of Dover and agents that I know whom personally attended have said that this was the best ship christening that they have ever been to and the Italians really know how to make and Christen a ship.

MSC Bellissima is the 4th ship in 2 years to be added to the MSC fleet. The sister ship of Meraviglia which launched last year will operate seven-night western Mediterranean itineraries next summer before moving to Dubai for winter 2019-20.

MSC Seaside launched in December 2017 with her sister ship Seaview launching in June of this year. Plus there is more to come from the Italian Cruise line that is trying to outdo Royal Caribbean. MSC Grandiosa is the next one in the new fleet to be launched with a date yet to be confirmed.

There is also some exciting news regarding the latest technology to be added to Bellissima, which I am sure if it takes off will spread across the fleet. Not sure what I am talking about, then click on the link to find out more

MSC To Install Amazon’s Alexa Technology In Every Cabin

MSC is really trying to crack the UK market and this was helped with the decision of location for the christening of Bellissima. They have Magnifica sailing all through the summer out of Southampton in 2018 and this has proved to be very popular with us Brits, especially with great prices and also some changes to accommodate our tastes – Yorkshire Tea anyone?

Me & Preziosa in Malta

Me & Musica in Dubai

So if you haven’t tried MSC yet and are concerned about the mixed reviews, then don’t be, I am a huge MSC fan and will be happy to tell you all about my own personal experiences on their ships and give you the best advise possible to make sure you end up loving MSC like I do.
