Sail Away with Independence

So I have recently return from my AMAZING trip on-board the Independence of the sea’s and although it was just a mini cruise and a treat for my parents 60th Birthdays, we all had a fantastic time on-board.

From checking in early with the smooth process on embarking and locating our cabins. Once we got to our cabin we then decided to head to Windjammer’s for lunch, with a great selection and choice to choose from. We had pre-paid for the All inclusive which I would certainly recommend if as they ship was completely full so it was just as easy to go up and get a drink yourself. And if I’m being completely honest I was surprised with the All Inclusive package as I was under the impression it was $12 per beverage where as in fact it was $14 per beverage which again gave you plenty of choice.

The cabin itself was to a moderate size as there was 3 of us in the cabin. The cabin attendant as always on a ship would fall over themselves to try and help with any and was also very funny with the communication which I like and also making up strange birds with your towels.

The ship layout was fantastic and I absolutely loved the promenade deck, although somewhat limited to seating with the capacity of the ship, but never the less it was a great spot to relax, eat and drink and with plenty of entertainment from shows, quiz’s, sport and other unexpected surprises. In the evening you would find a lot of other passengers on the promenade enjoying themselves in the bards and you will also enjoy a very spectacular closing party with the cruise director. Watch you if you don’t like being filmed though!

Although there was plenty to keep you entertained I preferred to relax and use the gym’s sauna and steam room (free of charge) along with the open Jacuzzi on the lido deck with a few beverages before my evening meal.

The 1st night we ate in the Machbeth restaurant and the food and service was absolutely out of this world. For the 2nd night it was a formal evening and unfortunately someone in my party forgot to bring their formal wear so we all opted to eat in the Windjammer’s restaurant. Never the less their was a great selection of food to choose from and everyone one happy. Although i still prefer the formal dress and it is always nice to see everyone dress up.

The evening entertainment again was really good. They had a Take That tribute band who I actually met early that day on the lido deck. We also watch the Greece west end show which again was really good. However, for me, the dancing on ice act was probably the best performance for me and unfortunately we we not allowed to take any pictures in case this distracted the dancers, but 10 out of 10.

All in all this was a fantastic taster cruise for myself and my parents with Royal Caribbean and I would definitely go back again to try another Royal Caribbean cruise. And if I can get the All Inclusive package included then great. But if not I would definitely prepay to have this service included.
