About Me

Hi my name is Carol

I’m from Liverpool and I am a Liverpool fan ( had to get that in).

I worked for Thomson for over 15 years, about 6 of these were dealing with just cruise for our flagship Cruisedeals store in Liverpool. I do love my cruises and try to go on at last two or 3 a year and although they may be short it gives me the chance to try out the ships that are out there.

We did the maiden voyage on the Ovation of the Seas last April and I was lucky enough to get on the Harmony of the seas in the May, we also had a sneaky little 3 nights on the Independence of the seas in October with a group of friends and family. This was me on the Ovation trying out the bumper cars.

I have a daughter still at home who loves her cruises as much as i do, we are also a house of pets with 3 mental cats and a bit of a crazy dog who thinks she is a cat. so I never know what the next day is going to throw at me. I’m sure people who have a few pets at home will know just what i’m talking about

I’m also a bit of a photoaholic and don’t go far without my camera but me and selfie sticks don’t mix too well especially after nearly decapitating the man at the next table while on board the Independence of the seas, I forgot how long it was although he wont.

What got me into cruising ? well there is a story behind that question which i will tell you about but it helped me decide that following a career in cruise was what i wanted to do and i have to tell you i can honestly say I love what i do. There are not that many jobs out there that you can say that about

I have met some lovely people within my cruise journey some sadly no longer with us but never forgotten and others larger than life plus some customers who have become lifelong friends, some of these friends are so funny we spent our whole 5 night on the Ovation of the Seas laughing, I promise to upload a video one day to show how mad it was and the lift scene that caused people to stop and just scream laughing.

My own start to cruising came about by some friends, they wanted to cruise and i quite simply didn’t, so after a couple of years of saying no i decided i would give it a go, well within the first 24 hours on the ship I knew that this was the life for me and wished i had done it a lot sooner,so now when i say to first time cruisers that this will change how you holiday its actually from experience and almost everyone comes back for more, its a bug you cant shake. In my case it was the Norwegian Fjords so the scenery helped
