We have just returned from our first river cruise, tavelling from Moscow to St. Petersburg. The ship was beautiful and spotlessly clean. We had a lovely cabin with excellent en-suite facilities, and the service by all the staff was also excellent. Food on the first 3 days while in Moscow was average, but improved considerably from then on. Excursions were very good and well organised, though we would have preferred more time at most of the destinations. Our big disappointment was that the Viking brochure gave no indication that we would not be moored in the centre of either Moscow or St. Petersburg. This was very misleading as it often took well over an hour on the coach to reach the centres which then did not give enough time for sightseing.
